- Grapeseed oil is a vegetable oil packed with inflammation reducing essential fatty acid compounds such as linoleic acid as well as vitamin E that promote skin health. Both benefits help to restore elasticity and softness with those whose skin is parched and dull. Grapeseed oil is beneficial when used to hydrate and even out skin tones as well as reduce fine lines and wrinkles and protect against free radical damage with its powerful antioxidant properties. Cold pressed Grapeseed oil also benefits sexual health and makes an exceptional choice as a natural lubricant.
- Grapeseed oil is made from the grape seeds leftover from the process of winemaking. As a byproduct of winemaking, grape seeds are left behind and the oil is cold pressed to extract the oil from the dried grape seeds and retain its abundant nutrients. Grapeseed oil that has been extracted by heating methods and with chemicals does not protect the nutrients. Be sure to purchase cold-pressed Grapeseed oil overheated for all your needs.
- Grapeseed oil will go rancid after a period of time. Stored in a cool dark place, Grapeseed oil will last about 2 years in an unopened container and once opened has about a 6-month shelf life. When expired, Grapeseed oil will give off a sour, rancid odor. To dispose of expired Grapeseed oil, seal it in its container and place in the trash or you can consider composting the oil.
- According to studies, Grapeseed oil has beneficial properties for health that are mainly detected by in vitro studies, such as anti-inflammatory, cardioprotective, antimicrobial, and anticancer properties, and may interact with cellular and molecular pathways. Grapeseed oil provides a high amount of fatty acids, polyunsaturated fats and vitamin E which all can contribute to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant strength and therefore is beneficial for topical skin applications.
