Frequently Asked Questions
What note is Sandalwood essential oil?
  • In perfumery, scents have ‘notes.’ A scent can be a top, middle or base note. Sandalwood is considered a base note. Each aroma note reacts differently based on its volatility. Top notes tend to be the most volatile, meaning they don’t last that long after they’ve been exposed to air. However, top notes are generally the strongest aroma when you first smell a scent. On the other hand, base notes are the least volatile, meaning they last much longer and are not the strongest aroma when you first experience a scent but they grow stronger after being exposed to air.
Can I use Sandalwood essential oil while pregnant?
  • Sandalwood essential oil is safe to use while pregnant when following proper safety guidelines. It is not recommended that you use essential oils in the first trimester, which is considered the most delicate time in pregnancy. It is recommended that you do not use essential oils frequently, but rather minimally. Dilute your essential oil to 1% during topical application that you don’t overwhelm your system. Lastly, if you’re having complications, it may be best to avoid essential oils.
Can Sandalwood essential oil be taken internally?
  • Essential oils are powerful, concentrated substances so a little goes a long way. Two of the most effective ways to use them are by way of inhalation and topical use. Using Sandalwood essential oil internally is rarely necessary or recommended, no matter the brand. Essential oil ingestion can lead to adverse reactions such as medication contraindications, mucous membrane irritation, sensitization and nausea if done incorrectly. Therefore, if you wish to drink essential oils, we strongly recommend consulting with a knowledgeable professional with experience in internal use.
Does Sandalwood essential oil lighten skin?
  • Essential oils, including Sandalwood, have not been shown to lighten skin. However, they do offer numerous skin-nourishing benefits and can help reduce the appearance of dark spots and discoloration through collagen generation. When skin problems arise, dilute this oil to 1-3% and apply to the skin. Use twice daily as needed. Additionally, like most oils belonging to the sesquiterpenols family, Sandalwood is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and ability to heal and moisturize skin.
How to use Sandalwood essential oil?
  • There are several ways to effectively use Sandalwood essential oil and obtain its benefits, including 1.) Add 10 drops to your essential oil diffuser per 100 ml of water. 2.) Dilute 12 drops per 1 ounce of carrier oil and use in a skin-nourishing massage. 3.) Add 6 drops to 1 ounce of castille soap and 1 cup of Epsom salt for added magnesium absorption.. Add the mixture to your bath and soak up the goodness. 4.) Add 10 drops to an Essential Oil Inhaler and take it with you for on-the-go therapeutic use.

Favorite Oil!

Hawaiian Sandalwood is my new favorite oil in diffusing! To me, it's has a soft wood tone (like cedarwood) but slightly sweeter. It also has a base note that rounds out the fragrance beautifully (what I might compare to a very light touch of vetiver). I

AMAZING SCENT !!!

This one does not smell nice from the first sniff out of the bottle, BUT...when it is diffused w/ other EO, it smells heavenly & you can tell it apart that it is the Hawaiian sandalwood that comes out.

For me this Sandalwood is a team-player EO, it brings out the other oil comes to life.

I put 1 drop of this to any blends I diffuse, love it too much.

Pure Awesomeness

My first reaction to this oil was not great. I thought I just wasted my money. I decided to play around with some blends and came up with Bergamot, Hawaiian Sandlewood, Manuka (one drops each) and one drop of Frank and oh my word......it is just amazing! Can’t wait to play with this some more. If your on the fence, just go for it!
