Add 10 drops to an Essential Oil Inhaler and take it with you for on-the-go therapeutic use. 3.) - Cinnamon Leaf is great in blends for colds and flu for use in a diffuser for its antimicrobial properties and immune stimulant. Its analgesic and antispasmodic properties give it a leg up in topical blends for chronic pain and its antimicrobial properties make it great in very low dilutions in blends for acne or other bacterial skin issues. It is suggested to use a maximum dilution of 2 drops of Cinnamon Leaf essential oil per ounce of carrier oil for topical application due to its hot nature and potential ability to cause skin irritation. It is not recommended for use around pets and small children or pregnant women. Some studies have also suggested that Cinnamon can lower glucose levels in the blood and acts as an antidiabetic.
- Bergamot and other citrus oils blend incredibly well with Cinnamon Leaf essential oil to help soften the edges of this hot, spicier oil. Bergamot has natural antidepressant and antianxiety qualities which can help as a mood enhancer, easing emotions and stress. Combined with Cinnamon Leaf, the two oils team up together for a warm, mentally stimulating and comforting aromatic.
- Cinnamon Leaf can be a potent essential oil to use topically to help with issues of tender sore areas from chronic pain and because of its antimicrobial abilities, it can help to target acne breakouts. However, due to the hot and spicier nature of Cinnamon Leaf essential oil, we recommend using it in combination with other oils that target skin issues and pain relief in a massage oil blend so that it does not irritate the skin. Coconut oil will trap heat under the skin and is not recommended in combination with Cinnamon Leaf if you are normally prone to feeling hot.
- Essential oils are powerful, concentrated substances so a little goes a long way. Two of the most effective ways to use essential oils are by way of inhalation and topical use. Ingesting Cinnamon Bark essential oil is rarely necessary and not recommended, no matter the brand due to its incredibly hot nature. Ingestion can lead to adverse reactions such as medication contraindications, mucous membrane irritation, sensitization and nausea if done incorrectly. Therefore, if you wish to take essential oils internally, we strongly recommend consulting with a knowledgeable professional with experience in internal use.
