Frequently Asked Questions
What is Pomegranate Seed oil good for?
  • Pomegranate Seed oil has punicic acid which has been studied for its anti-inflammatory abilities and antioxidant properties. It also has been touted for its ability to protect collagen fibers, offer wound healing and reduce the appearance of scars. Pomegranate oil can protect your body from free radicals and skin damage, skin inflammation and oxidative stress and enhance skin elasticity. It may also promote collagen production and protect the scalp and promote hair growth. It has a comedogenic rating of 1, meaning it will not clog pores and will not leave a greasy residue.
How to extract oil from pomegranate seeds?
  • Pomegranate Seed oil is made by cold pressing the seeds to extract the oil. The dried seeds are machine-pressed in a cold state to maintain the essential fatty acids and other nutrients in the natural oil. If desired you can make an infused or macerated Pomegranate Seed oil at home with a carrier oil - but note that this is an entirely different product. It's made by soaking the dried seeds in a clean glass mason jar with a neutral carrier oil such as Jojoba oil in the sun for 4-6 weeks. The jar should be shaken daily to get the most out of the seeds. After that period, the seeds are strained from the oil for the finished product.
How to use Pomegranate Seed oil?
  • Known as the ‘fruit of life’, it can be used as a massage oil, blended with essential oils and used to treat dry and chapped skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. Add it to an unscented liquid soap for use in the shower or to liquid hand soap to encourage wound healing and protect the skin against damage. Try it as scalp oil or blend it into an unscented shampoo to stimulate scalp circulation and protect hair follicles - allowing for the growth of strong, healthy hair.
How to use Pomegranate Seed oil for face?
  • You can use Pomegranate Seed oil directly on the face before bed or under makeup. Try blending it with floral and wood essential oils that can bolster the age-defying effects of this carrier oil. To use it before bed or under makeup, place a small amount on the palm of your hand, rub it between your palms and fingers, and gently massage it into the skin.
What does Pomegranate Seed oil smell like?
  • Pomegranate Seed oil has a fruity aroma that is somewhat sweet and nutty and carries a light amber hue. Due to its natural antioxidants, Pomegranate Seed oil has a shelf life of 6-12 months. Once old, it will have a sour, rancid odor. To dispose of the expired oil, seal it in its container and place in the trash or you can consider composting the vegetable oil.
How to Use

Apply Topically: Our Single Essential Oils and Synergy Blends are 100% pure and undiluted. To apply to the skin, dilute with a high-quality Carrier Oil. See our dilution chart here. Alternatively, use Carrier Oils alone as a natural moisturizer. We recommend performing a skin patch test when using a new essential oil topically.

Sweet smell

I read some of the reviews but I do smell a sweet scent when I pump it out of the bottle. It is a little stickier than the other carrier oils I use on my face but I add some Cistus or other EO and it absorbs quickly

LOVE this oil

I love the texture of this oil. If feels great, absorbs well, and actually smells amazing. The smell subtle but nice. I use it every day, and it doesn’t leave me looking oily or oddly shinny. It has been great to have around for the dryer months.
I personally blend it with Hemp oil and frankincense, but I think it would be great on its own as well.

Perfect for dry skin

I've been using this oil as supplemental oil for when my skin is EXTRA dry. I blend it with rosehip for my face, and sweet almond for my body. The oil on its own is very sticky and oily, which is how it is supposed to be. It also has a very faint, sweet s

A surprisingly nutty scent!

I was expecting a fruity scent from this pomegranate oil, but it was surprisingly nutty! It's slightly heavy but very nourishing. It's not my favorite of the three I bought, but I looked up the health benefits and I'm glad I purchased it. It would probabl

must have forevermore

This carrier is very thick, but not heavy. I blend 1 (sometimes 2) pumps of it with 2 pumps EG rosehip for nights and wake up with soft, fresh skin. I love the smell and find it fades soon enough. It's a luxurious carrier oil and has been a game changer in my routine. I started with EG cucumber seed in the morning after a water wash only on my face, then just EG rosehip at night after washing with castile soap and in one week my acne issues were totally gone and my skin felt soft and fresh and I didn't even need spot concealors. Then I added this carrier to my nighttime routine and suddenly my new glowing skin was even more glow-y - it a good way! It's like adding the cherry to the top of the sundae, you don't know you need it until you have it and then you'll never want to run out of it.
